We have given their address after the entry so that you can e-mail them directly.
(But read the note below first.)

  1. Looking for information on RICHARDS family from Mynyddislyn. My father THOMAS EDWIN RICHARDS born there in 1926 his father was THOMAS RICHARDS who worked at the Oakdale Mine up until about 1929/1930 when he moved to the South Kent Coalfied. His mother was LILLIAN BENNETT, believe Thomas senior had brothers or sisters who had children who moved to USA. Remember my father telling me that he visited his cousin (female) when she lived in Newark, New Jersey in the early 1950's. Believe that some of his cousins also moved to AUSTRALIA. Would welcome any news.

  5. I can't find an address in Oakdale. I only have a name. Im assuming my Grandmother lived in the village as my Mother was born there in 1921. Her name was HANNA JANE EVANS. and she married Wilfblue STEVENS at the age of twenty, as she had my mother who was born 1921, in Oakdale. My Grandmother was born in 1900. She had a brother, who moved to Canada later.. My Grandmother married into the Stevens family, Im assuming again, my Grandfather worked in the pit in Oakdale, otherwise he wouldnt have been able to get a house there. Myself, I visited the house when I was about 6yo. I remember at the back, I looked up to find a massive blue hill, I thought at the time a mountain. As far as I can tell from Multi map .com, there is only one surrounding hill . I need an old map. But the two names I'm looking for are Stevens and Evans. My Grandfather was moved to the Askern pit in Yorkshire, where the family has spread. My Mother married into the Britton family. Ironically, my Grandfather here Oswald E Britton was an engine driver on the GWR. I dont know my Grandmothers name, Including my father they had eleven children. All born in Swansea except the youngest, so I think they moved to Wiltshire about 1939. I do believe in miracles. I hope these names ring a bell somewhere.
