  1. I am researching the names OWEN/OWENS and GRIFFITHS. My grandad was THOMAS OWENS b. 11/4/1876 at Ystradyfodwg and his father also THOMAS was born in 1847 at St. David's Brecon. My grandmother was RUTH GRIFFITHS b. 8/5/1882 and her father JAMES was born in 1844 at Gwenddwr. Both families moved to the Crumlin/Abercarn/Oakdale area at the end of the 19th century. JAMES GRIFFITHS 2nd marriage was to a widow ANN BRICE nee MORGAN and they lived at Shewbridge Farm

CHARLES and ANNIE were living in Pengam, Waunborfa Road in 1932 when ANNIE married FRANCIS HENRY BENTLEY of Kentish Town, London. I am looking for any information on my grandfather, Hedley Edward Greenhaff, he was killed at OAKDALE colliery on 25th Oct 1944, just 3 days before my mam's 8th birthday, they lived in Fleur-de-lys, he was a fantastic darts player who won many trophies for his playing, he was also a brilliant singer and was known as THE SINGING COWBOY.   16. My greatgrandfather JENKIN LLEWELLYN LEWIS b LLanelly Breconshire 1864 married LUCY ANN PARKER (b. ca 1866) in 1886 in Bedwelty. Both lived at Penmaen with respective Families, JENKIN had 3 brothers( James Thomas and William) and of his 4 children I believe only CLIFFE JAMES LEWIS ( my grandfather) survived beyond childhood.One certainly died as a child in a fire and my grandfather never mentioned 2 others. his brothers were William George Millington b.1889: Gilbert Otway b.1895 d 1899: and Horace John b 1898.

  17. My grandfather was born BERTIE BEVAN in GRANGETOWN, CARDIFF to a POLLY BEVAN in 1895 but was later 'adopted' by ALFRED HINDER and his wife. Their address in the 1901 census is given as 97 GREENFIELD, NEW TREDEGAR, by which time my grandfather's name was 'BERTIE HINDER, aged 6 -born NEW TREDEGAR'. He was the family's eldest child. The names of the other children were-MAUD, BEATRICE & TREVOR. They later moved to ABERBARGOED/BARGOED. ALFRED worked as a 'Colliery Horse Driver Below ground' Following the death of his wife JANE, ALFRED HINDER remarried. His second wife was ANNIE (from Beaufort?) and they had four more children -MADGE, PEG, CHARLIE (who died in 1995) and IVY. I would love to hear from anyone who can help me piece this jig-saw together. Thank you.

He married ADA RALPH b.1896 they lived at 31 Commercial St.Cwmcarn in 1945 .daughter THELMA .son ARCHIE. Would like to know where FREDRICK was born as I can't connect him on the 1901 census with father GEORGE and mother whose initials were E.A.Help on any of the names mentioned would be great.
