3. Hello, my name is GRAHAM CAFFYN (Nunker) I would like to hear from Ron Jhonston (Donker), left Oakdale to go to Australia some time ago. I have big hopes of returning to the Village for the centennial 2007. I am also hoping that there will be a Class of 1957 50 year Reunion, this would be awesome.
   I was home for a visit Nov17th through Dec 8th 2005, it was a nice visit, so good to find there's still a real welcome in the village.

6. Hi. Does anyone remember my mum? Her name was NANCY OWEN, she was the daughter of JACK and GLADYS OWEN, and had an older sister named SYDNA. Both were born in Penmaen. The whole family moved to London in the early 1930's but Mum was evacuated back to Penmaen during the war. Mum was born in 1927. She loved her time in Wales during the war, it had a profound effect upon her. Her best friend was Glenys who married DANNY CANNIFF and he was a Union official at the Colliery.

8. Hello! my name is Mairona LISTON (nee Williams) and I would like to contact anybody who might remember my parents, WILLIAMS(CARIS and NWYVRE). We lived in Oakdale during the war(on "the Tar", I think) near the hospital. My parents were friendly with Betty WILLIAMS, George and Molly POUND, Ivor HODGE and the CHALLENGERS who kept "The Ivy Bush" pub. Also DILYS LANE and family. Also was there a MR.GOUGH who kept pigs? I left when I was 5, went back to YSTALYFERA, but have lived in VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA since 1973. 9. I am trying to find any information about LESLIE BROWN. He was born in 1927 in Merthyr Tydfil to GLADYS BROWN, but we are told that he was adopted by some relatives some years later and ended up in Oakdale. We have no idea when and know nothing else about him. His half sister would love to meet him or any relatives.

10. My name is RUSSELL BRADFORD. I was born in Oakdale , lived there for the first 20 years and then moved to Somerset. My father Tom Bradford died in 1998 having lived in Oakdale all his life. I'd like to hear from anyone that remembers any of my family.

11. My name is GEOFF THOMAS; I was born at number 1 West View, Rhiw-syr-Dafydd Oakdale on the 6th October 1944. Moved to number 18 Masygarn Road. Finally moving to 24 Ashville Road, Oakdale. My Dad's name was Tom, and mother's name Iris. One sister Margaret, and brother Peter. I attended Rhiw-syr-Dafydd school Between 1949 to 1961. Thereafter, I became an apprentice Electrician at Oakdale Colliery.

    I played lead guitar in the school band, with Benny Williams, Bernard Perry, Victor Penaluner, and Paul ? we played many gigs around the Valleys.
    I was always involved in school sports, Gymnastics, Rugby, and Athletics. The school PE teacher Mr Des Jones gave me great support in my sport, and through his confidence in me In the 60's I represented not only the school, but also Wales and Great Britain in the world Gymnastrada in Stuttgart, Germany.

    I would like to hear from anyone who knew me from our school days.
